Castiglioncello, a charming seaside resort, a green lung overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea in front of Capraia and Corsica, visible from the town in the suggestive sunsets, together with the islands of Gorgona and Elba.
The Etruscan history of Castiglioncello is preserved in the small but charming museum of Castiglioncello, in via del Museo just behind our apartments in Villa Violetta. Every historical period has left, in the locality, well-preserved testimonies: from the Medici Tower dating back to the seventeenth century, born as a lookout tower on the end of the promontory, in front of our Torre Medicea Apartments, adjacent to the church of Sant’Andrea from 1864 which is built on the remains of a 17th century oratory.
Under the29aae3 there is the characteristic beach of the Cianciafera, surname of Countess Cianciafera Danieli, sister of Count Danieli who lived for a long time in the overhanging castle adjacent to the friendly tower of Umberto di Savoia which she hosted in the same Castle.
